From Emigrant Family: Darlene Hansen
Video interview: In 2012, Arne Jørgen Rønningen interviewed his second cousin Darlene Hansen, born Renning in 1935. Darlene from Alberta in Canada is the granddaughter of Iver Odlorønningen (Renning) who emigrated from Ringebu in 1902.

Written by Arne Jørgen Rønningen: While Iver Odønningen (Renning) emigrated from Ringebu in 1902, his siblings "emigrated" to Selsverket and have large relatives in Sel. Anna married Syver Wold Ulvolden, Ellen married Ludvik Kolbotn, Laurits Rønningen married Bina Nedre-Havn and Mari married Skurdal and owned Søre-Kleivmellom in the 1920s. Darlene tells here about her upbringing as a "farm-girl" in Alberta without knowledge of her Norwegian background.
Asbjørn Rønningen from Ringebu who is mentioned in the film was married to Darlene's sister Diane in 1984. Arne Ulvolden who is mentioned is known from "Samuel and grandfather" on TV and has visited relatives in Alberta several times. Arne Jørgen Rønningen also hitchhiked from Minnesota to Alberta in 1983 to visit relatives, and to see the farm that his grandfather Laurits owned from 1916 to 1919.
The family came from Odlorønningen in Ringebu
Written by Stein-Erik Rønningen: Odlorønningen, upper (Gnr. 69, bnr. 10), Søre Vekkom, Ringebu. Odlorønningen is from old times of a smallholder place under Odlo, south (Gnr. 69, bnr. 3). Marit P. Odlo, widow of Peder E. Odlo, sold the upper Odlorønningen to Ole I. Odlorønningen in 1904 for NOK 2,200. In 1921 Ole Odlorønningen sold the farm to his son Laurits O. Odlorønningen for NOK 4,000 and before. In 1926 he sold Odlorønningen to his brother, Mathias O. Odlorønningen, for NOK 5,000. In 1953, Mathias sold the farm to Johannes Odlolien b. 1921, son of Edvard A. Spekhus b. 1873 and Anne K. Kroken b. 1885. g. 1942 with Martha Mæhlumssveen b. 1922, daughter of Kristian Bakkom and Olga Bringsrud. Owner from 1988: Knut Odlolien b. 1945, b. 1968 with Anne Heggelihaugen, Sør-Fron, b. 1946, daughter of Martinus Heggelihaugen b. 1916 and Anne Åløkken b. 1921.
